School uniform, such as black shoes, plimsolls, trousers and gingham dresses are available at most retail outlets. If you require any t-shirts, jumpers or sweatshirts with the school logo on they can be ordered from the school office. Please see Mrs Tompkins in the school office for prices and more details.
The School colour is dark blue. School uniform consists of black or grey trousers for boys and grey trousers or blue gingham dress for girls, pale blue polo shirt and dark blue jumper or sweatshirt. The uniform also includes sensible black shoes.
For PE we wear dark blue shorts and dark blue t-shirt. Plimsolls are also worn indoors. For out door PE we allow dark blue or grey tracksuit bottoms and trainers.
In the summer boys may wear black or grey shorts and we also advise a sun hat to protects your child's head from the sun.
Applications for admission to Hormead School are now completed centrally by the DCSF at County Hall, Hertford. You can start the process by calling 0300 123 4043, which will take you to the admissions department.
You should also make an appointment to visit and look around the school.
School starts at 8.55am. Pupils are encouraged to be here a few minutes before for a prompt start. School finishes at 3.15pm.
Nursery childen are collected at 12 noon.
Pupils can arrive earlier by joining our Early Birds Scheme.
Yes. From 8.30am we run an "Early Birds" club. Pupils can be dropped of and are looked after in class by one of the teachers. Shortly before 8.55am they go out onto the playground to line up with the rest of the children.
Parents need to sign their child in for Early Birds so we have a record of who is on site.
