The Curriculum

At Hormead, we are committed to providing the education to enable children to achieve their individual potential. In addition to this, we understand the importance of learning life skills which prepare them for their next educational step and beyond into adulthood.

In accordance with the national curriculum, children at Hormead are taught Maths, English, Science, Music, Drama, PE, RE, ICT, History, Geography, French, Art and Technology. In addition to the formal teaching sessions of the day we also teach the "hidden curriculum", the relationships and values evident in our Christian ethos as a church school.

Our involvement with the East Herts Sport partnership and close links with the Rib Valley schools, enable further opportunities to share and participate in a varied programme of events and activities with other local schools.

Our commitment to providing children with a wide variety of experiences extends to after school clubs with clubs such as cookery, art, football, cricket, basketball, guitar, Spanish and country dancing amongst others.
